Cut Translation Costs!
You could, of course, paste your translation into one of the free translation websites, but this may not achieve the quality required. Other less drastic measures are:
- provide the document electronically
- check your document for errors and clarity
- doublecheck addresses, phone/fax numbers, names and titles
- if you are preparing the document yourself avoid cultural clichés, plays on words, colloquial terms etc
- indicate whether you wish us to handle conversion (metric to Imperial measurements and vice versa)
- finalise your text before starting the translation
- tell us who the translation is for so that the document can be prepared with that audience in mind
- decide on what style of language you require
- provide any previously translated materials/glossaries of your particular industry/company which may help to clarify technical terms/company jargon
- plan ahead - a translator needs one day to translate in the region of 2000 words, so if you don't leave enough time you will have to pay an urgency surcharge
